he World Health Organization (WHO) has chosen the theme "protect the health address climate change" to attract the attention of the international community on the climate change problem and its impact on the health of populations. In Burkina, the actors of health around the Minister of Health have responded to the call of the international community. From this theme, Health Minister Alain Yoda, recalled that it is the man who, through his bad way to exploit natural resources for its own use, degrades the environment and seriously undermines its survival.

Thus, the accumulation of greenhouse gases is a factor influencing the global climate in which the health effects are likely to grow as temperatures continue to increase. He carbon dioxide, methane him, he protoxyde them hydrofluorés nitrogen and sulphur hexafluoride are of greenhouse gases produced as a result of human activities. These gases result in a degradation of the ozone layer in the upper parts of the atmosphere weakening its primary function as solar radiation filter.

Thus, a greater amount of ultraviolet rays happens at ground level with the immediate consequences for humans, risks of cancers of the skin.

In addition, they result in a warming of the lower atmosphere in retaining infrared radiation emitted by the earth. In our country the report on the state of the environment in 2002, has identified agriculture, energy and waste as main sources of emissions of greenhouse gases. The latter leads to global warming which, in turn, leads to the emergence of external metrological phenomena such as floods or drought causing loss of life in human generating conditions favorable to diarrhoeal diseases and cholera. To protect the health of adverse effects from climate change, the representative of WHO / Burkina Faso, Baba Moussa, called for a cross-reflection, individual and collective.

This was also an opportunity for Ms. Priscilla Zongo, wife of the Prime Minister to plead for the fight against malaria Burkina Faso. "More resources, more sewage of the living (...). This is the commitment of all that will enable us to defeat malaria," Ms. advocacy of Zongo.

In recognition of their efforts, 76 agents of the Ministry of Health have been made knights of the Order of Merit of Health and Social Welfare with staple health.
