American organisation "Food and Water Watch" denounces the collapse of federal investments on infrastructure-water treatment in its report published in early October: "Clear Waters: Why America needs a clean water trust fund". To help States to bring their water treatment stations with the standards imposed by the Clean Water Act, the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, managed by the EPA was created in 1987. This program offers loans at low rates for states and municipalities wishing to upgrade their facilities, water treatment and funding for the control of diffuse sources of pollution and protection of estuaries. |

Pliny The project aims to improve water quality in the triangle Lariano, a region that covers both branches of the Y formed by the southern part of the famous Lake Como, Italy. His idea? The system chosen will reduce the agitation cycle recirculating water and return water surface to depths of 15 to 20 m. By mixing the water to the more cold depths, it is hoped stem the proliferation of algae and bacteria at that depth, light is no longer strong enough to foster the growth of aquatic plants and the temperature is low enough to limiting the multiplication of bacteria. Lake Como has long been a place of the most popular holiday in Italy. The Milanese go there to escape the summer heat wave in properties sublime as the Villa d'Este, Cardinals residence built in the 16th century and transformed in 1873 into luxury hotel that attracts Hollywood celebrities. Third lake in Italy by size, Lake Como Y-shaped in reverse, is also one of the deepest in Europe (416 m). For some time, the quality of its water is weak and particularly in the western arm leading to the city of Como. The East has the arm passage of the Adda river which crosses the lake from north to south. It is at the root of many currents, and thus rid the water of the pollution that accumulates. This is far from being the case further west: the water flows more or less pollution and is more concentrated. |

The United Nations General Assembly has declared the year 2008 as the International Year of Sanitation. Accordingly, the World Day for Water, which is celebrated this year Thursday, March 20, will highlight issues of sanitation. On this occasion, we suggest you read a portion of the statement UNESCO. "One of the biggest challenges faced by humanity is to improve the well-being of 2.6 billion people - half the developing world's population - lack access to a network of adequate sanitation. Despite the extension of the network anywhere in the world and the considerable efforts made by governments and the international community, progress towards attaining the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals for development) of halving the proportion of people without sustainable access to drinking water and sanitation appropriate has been slow and uneven. Estimates Report on the Millennium Goals for Development 2007, so on the MDGs Sanitation is reached, it must be that 1.6 billion people access to improved sanitation during the period 2005-2015. If the trends observed since 1990 continues, the world may miss its target by almost 600 million people. It is now urgent to address the problem of sanitation in a sustainable manner involving all stakeholders and, most importantly, communities and local authorities, households and investors. |

Installation of 3D common pursuit of Canadian and American marines. The installation of further 3D Nanoose used to pursue goals submarines, surface and air, including torpedoes, submarines, surface ships and aircraft. The 3D position of all objects pursued is recorded and displayed in real-time operations centre on the island of Winchelsea.Any vehicle submarine to be equipped with a transmitter acoustics. The transmitter emits a signal 75 kHz adjusted by moving phase, which is detected by one or other of 30 networks of hydrophones submarine-based short. The signals received by these networks are amplified, multiplexed and sent to the island of WinChelsea for analysis of the position. This system for submarine provides a unique value exact 2 to 5 metres, according to the treatment. Two camera systems Cine-Sextant "are also available for the analysis of the trajectories and videotaping high magnification. Data from these cameras can further be used to determine the trajectory and impact points, as well as for the deployment of accessories launch air or for any other application requiring a visual record high magnification. In addition to its equipment for the installation includes sound recording systems and targets acoustic made by ships and installed on the seabed. Targets mobile MK 30 mock submarines are available based on a cost recovery. A variety of marine vessels from Canadian and American support operations for the installation of 3D. The naval vessels were sent to American CEEMFC from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport, in Washington State, while several vessels of the Canadian Forces are stationed permanently at CEEMFC. These vessels are used in the following activities. |

Water intended for human consumption without imparting any toxic effect is drinking water. Water of sufficient quality to serve as drinking water is termed as potable water whether it is used as such or not. The non-metallic materials can cause changes in water quality when it comes in contact with it.
BS 6920 and its modified version AS / NZS 4020:2002 (for Australian and New Zealand requirements) is the method for testing the water quality-ie, 'Testing of products for use in contact with drinking water' and any non-metallic product should comply with these test requirements for getting the approval given by Water Quality Centre (WQC). |
