"Excerpt from press release from the Frapna of July 7, 2008" In 1999, FRAPNA Isere denounced the infilling of the former gravel pit so-called "Brassiertes" on common Domene and Versoud by waste and pollutants captured justice setting up a civil party. For nearly 7 years, the case is under investigation. In this context, additional forensic examination conducted in 2003 revealed that "many wastes that were dumped in the pond did no inert waste as a whole but concerned many evolutionary waste and potential pollutant. "These wastes are municipal waste (household waste in the broadest sense) and special industrial waste. The surface water as supplies are badly polluted by waste (PCBs, lead, arsenic, manganese, aluminum, copper, chromium, mercury, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons…), contaminants stable over time and toxic to humans and the natural environment . The conclusion of this expertise 2003 is alarming: "The risk is all the more heightened the waste has been dumped from a pond and a water table. It requires urgent measures to be taken at the height of serious and lasting problem that this expertise has highlighted. " Elements alarming that should have encouraged local officials including Mayor Michel Savin Domene to take emergency measures and magnitude. But so far no action has been taken to decontaminate the site. The Greens Grésivaudan therefore requested that the investigation would lead quickly to the responsibilities in this pollution are clearly established and that a solution is implemented as soon as possible, before the bomb health timebomb, which affects the whole food chain to humans, will become irreparable. The March 9 vote Denis TIBERTI (Greens) While we are all more or less users of a mobile phone but otherwise fixed phones without a son or computers, we only think we face more often in our daily electromagnetic waves type microwave? . that we know to take precautions for their use? What are the health effects of these devices? What are the effects of relay antennas? In response to these questions that scientists and doctors invited by the association SERA (Health-environment Rhone-Alpes) invites you to participate in the conference debate on 5 March 2008 to 19 hours at the Maison des associations in Grenoble |

HTML clipboard Water is used in many industrial processes. It serves as example for cooling and washing facilities, the operation of boilers or even in some manufacturing processes. In France, samples of the resource for industrial use amounted to 3 650 million cubic-meters in 2001, representing 25% of all industrial uses, agricultural and household (source: IFEN, Water Agencies , National Data Network on Water (RNDE)). These volumes, down 3.2% compared to 1997, were valued at 23 million cubic meters in the Rhone-Alpes in 2002. They accounted for a share of 22.6% (source: water 2000 in the Rhone-Alpes, Prefecture of the Rhone-Alpes and Régionnal Council). Samples of water resources are subject to authorization or a declaration under Article 10 of the Water Act (articles L.214-1 et seq of the Environment Code). They are also the subject of a declaration with basin organizations on the basis of which will be calculated the fee payable under the principle of préleveur pays. Compared to the agricultural and industrial uses, industrial uses have a lesser impact on the quantitative resource. Their net consumption rate (ratio of volumes actually consumed volumes collected) is in effect between 0 and 10% and is lower than those of irrigation (80 to 95%, irrigation by flooding last part) and distribution Public drinking water (25%). |

HTML clipboard Who does not know the famous Roundup? And most importantly who never used the famous herbicide? Although badly we took as a very recent study showed that the "expensive" Roundup is toxic to cells and tissues embryonic human placenta. Already called into question in previous research, Roundup continues to be available to all gardeners, a highly publicized false boasting about its respect for the environment. The molecule active Roundup is glyphosate. We know this toxic molecule for quite some time but only, it can not enter cells. Studies conducted in 1993, however, have highlighted its extremely harmful effects on photosynthesis of algae and on the behaviour of trout, as well as on some mammals and pets. In light of such results difficult to believe that the compound is not toxic effect on humans. In 2002, a new study has concluded the role of glyphosate in cellular deregulation and thus its involvement in certain cancers in humans. It appears that if glyphosate can not enter alone in cells, additives used in the composition of Roundup themselves to facilitate the work and finally make active cell life. Through these adjuvants, which make up 99.04% to Roundup, glyphosate can enter inside cells and do its destructive work. |

The body of our children is polluted by contaminants The first study of its kind found concentrations of certain chemicals higher among children than among their parents Ottawa (Ontario) - The dangerous toxic pollutants were detected in the body of every child and every parent who participated in a Canadian study whose results were announced today by Environmental Defence. The first Canadian study of its kind found concentrations of certain chemicals higher among children than among their parents. Families volunteers from the BC, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick have participated in the study. The report innovator Children, Toxic Nation: A Report on Pollution in families reveals the presence of toxic products, such as antitaches, fire retardants, mercury, lead, DDT and BDP among Canadian children and their parents . In several cases, the children in the study were more contaminated than their parents by chemicals still in use, including antitaches (perfluorinated compounds or PFCs), brominated flame retardants (PBDEs), heavy metals, insecticides metabolites organophosphate and PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons). Many chemicals found in the bodies of children are associated with cancer, developmental disorders, respiratory disorders, neurological damage and the endocrine deregulation. This report is the first in Canada to verify the presence of children and their parents, a range of toxic substances into the environment and in the manufacture of products of everyday use. It demonstrates that Canadian families are contaminated, no matter where they work, play or go to school, and no matter where they live or the age of their members. |

Number of industrial activities may affect the fish and its habitat, including exploitation of oil and gas, mining, chemical industries, maritime transport and electricity generation. In order to support and to wisely manage these activities to ensure they have a minimal impact on ecosystems, policy decisions and regulations fair and informed must be taken. Hence, the Directorate of Environmental Sciences DFO focus its scientific expertise on the environmental impacts that must be taken into account in decision-making. |
