 These festivities are deeply rooted in the life of the people of Cape Breton. Whether commemorate the first Loyalists, French and Acadian Micmac Indians or Celts, the festival is a way of life for these diverse cultures that make up over 80% of the population of the island . The music, songs and dances as well as indigenous foods, religious ceremonies and sporting events that reflect community life and family are shown in the festival menu. Some museum exhibitions and performances are also part of the programme of festivities and present a vivid and dramatic picture of life yesterday and today.
 The festivals today are generally one of three categories and labels used to describe them vary. For purposes of this exhibition, the word "festival" means all these festivals. Some festivals popular today were launched from 1957. The festival "Old Time Outdoor Picnics" by example has been introduced in the late nineteenth century.

 Among the most popular festivals of the years 1990, include those that are organized first and foremost as a means of raising funds, the commemoration of the culture and heritage from the second row. They are held in rural areas such as Broad Cove, Big Pond, the island Madam, Eskasoni and in "cities" as Whitney Pier and New Waterford, these festivals are the work of volunteers who represent groups of citizens.

The ancient Greeks called "Kalliste," the most beautiful. It is true that Corsica, "mountain in the sea" is a veritable anthology of all the wonders of the world. Its history also demonstrates participates and that of all major countries of the Mediterranean. But yet it has a real identity and culture, although enriched by other cultures, this particular aspects of an astonishing variety. In any season, Corsica, light and hospital, is a land of encounters, amazement and wonder.
 By far, coming from the sea, Corsica appears as a series of summits, often snowy, before revealing the contours of the shore. With an average altitude of 680 metres, it is the island's highest level throughout the Mediterranean. A real chain alpine peaks 2 700 metres, rising Cinto, and a quarantine of peaks more than 2 000 meters. By the miracle of the geological formation and erosion, reliefs present a shortcut needles pointing skyward, tops a bright white, shredded and peaks sculpted by the wind, cashed passes, gorges, circuses large and majestic, green peaks. And an entire universe of lakes, streams, waterfalls, rivers inhabited by trout.
